Boccato + Gigante + Zambusi, SAT 20, Luci c1980
It is rare to find a lighting object by architects and collaborating partners Marilena Boccato, Gian Nicola Gigante and Antonio Zambusi that was not produced by Zerbetto, but the SAT 20 is such an object. Produced by Luci in the early 1980s, the SAT 20 is a very well considered lamp for wall or ceiling applications. The lamps are composed of a white circular metal plate on to which a round prismatic or fresnel style glass shade is affixed, which in turn is surrounded by a ribbed black plastic collar. All these elements are combined to create a striking and beautiful lighting effect, something like the rings of Saturn (perhaps how the name is derived).
The pair of lamps are in very good condition and perfect working order. However, there is a small hairline crack across the width of one of the black plastic collars (pictured). There are also a few scratches and scuffs to the hidden interior part of the metal plates but nothing more than what should be expected from an object of this age. The sale does not include the 2 light sources as any E14 screw light bulb (45mm) can be fitted.
