Elio Martinelli, Robot, Martinelli Luce, 1966

£285.00
SOLD

Elio Martinelli’s well known Robot lamp is an early example of his move from the traditional fixed type lighting of the 1950s to lamps with more fluid articulation and rotation. Designed in 1966, the Robot was part of a collection of floor, wall and table lamps featuring a patented device that allows the head to fully rotate and swivel independently from a tubular body. Composed of metal and finished in an off-white, ivory tone, the Robot table lamp casts a direct but slightly diffused light because of its close proximity to the surface on which it is placed.

This lamp has been restored and in very good condition and perfect working order. There are no major scratches to the lacquered finish, however there are a few very small dents to the head of the lamp. These are impossible to photograph as they are very slight and only visible when the light catches the reflective surface from particular angles. The lamp will be shipped with a new E27 2.5W 250 lumen LED light source.
