Afra and Tobia Scarpa, Pierrot, Flos 1991

£980.00
SOLD

The exceptional Pierrot desk lamp by the Italian architect team Afra and Tobia Scarpa. After a number of years of research and development into alternative materials, the unusual structure for the Pierrot was ultimately derived from the slicing of compound sheets for printed circuits. Composed of copper, the sheets serve as electrical conductors, which are held in place by rubber grommets to create a circuit and deliver 12 volts of power to the halogen light source. The lamp holder, made from an advanced technopolymer for heat resistance, snaps off and can be turned to face upwards or downwards. The Pierrot is a truly outstanding object conceived of with the kind of care and meticulous attention to detail that it could only bear the names of Afra and Tobia Scarpa.

The lamp is in excellent condition and perfect working order. A new Philips G4 LED (10W) capsule light bulb is included in the sale.
