The Eco (which means echo in Italian) is a striking table or wall lamp designed by Luciano Annichini for Artemide in 1971. Composed of lacquered aluminium, the design of the Eco de-emphasises the light source and gives prominence to its reflection or ‘echo’ upon the interior walls of the lamp and surface on which it rests. Artemide produced the Eco to be used as a table or wall lamp, however we are unsure on how it is actually fixed to a wall. The lamp nevertheless remains a very beautiful and impressive object of considerable proportions, but without ever appearing imposing.
The Eco lamp is in excellent condition and working order. There are only very insignificant scratches to the painted surface and the cable has become slightly yellowed over time. The lamp was designed for a tubular shaped light bulb, however we have included a small E27 2.5W 250 lumen LED light source, which is just as effective at producing an evenly distributed luminescence.
