Giuliana Gramigna, Trigolo, Quattrifolio 1986

Giuliana Gramigna’s works all share the same attributes of reservedness, intellectual elegance and lightness that never demands attention. The Trigolo wall lamp is no exception. Designed in 1986, the lamp was produced by Quattrifolio, the company which Gramigna established with Sergio Mazza in 1964. The triangular body of the Trigolo is composed of metal, finished in a slightly textured off-white tone to mimic the surface of a painted wall. A sliver of slightly curved opaline glass sits neatly in the front slit of the lamp. The Trigolo is a fine example of Gramigna’s light touch and attention to detail that is present in all of her pieces.

Giuliana Gramigna was not only an architect but also an accomplished design historian, writing many books on the history of Italian architecture and design. Her most well known, and perhaps most important book is “Repertoire 1950-1980” first published in 1985. Both Gramigna and Sergio Mazza designed and produced many beautiful and timeless lighting objects under their Quattrifolio mark.

The Trigolo wall lamp is in excellent condition and working order. There are few chips to the painted surface, but only on the back wall facing side. We have not included a light source with this lamp, as it can be fitted with a number of different bulbs depending on taste.
