Elio Martinelli, Saliscendi, Martinelli Luce 1965

£415.00
SOLD

Elio Martinelli’s Saliscendi suspension lamp is a large and beautiful example of Martinelli’s ability to effortlessly combine function with aesthetics. Produced in 1965 by his own company Martinelli Luce, the Saliscendi uses the rise and fall mechanism that was typical of its time. However, with the Saliscendi, the pulley system is contained within the upper sphere of the lamp and becomes an integral part of it’s construction. The result is an object of exceptional visual and formal unity that runs from the sphere, to the diffuser and the lower finial. The Saliscendi has three lamp holders which, together with the white opal methacrylate shade, casts a perfectly even and diffuse light.

The Saliscendi lamp is in excellent condition and perfect working order. The sale does not include the 3 light bulbs that are required for the lamp, as a number of different bulbs with an E14 fitting can be used.
