Rodolfo Bonetto, Sistema Rio Wall Lamp, Luci 1982
Sistema Rio is a modular system of suspension or wall fastened lighting units designed for commercial applications by Rodolfo Bonetto in 1982. Produced by Luci Italia (formerly Luci Illuminazione D’interni), Bonetto designed the modules with the angled, archetypal contours of the 1980s to guarantee unimpaired diffusion of light with a high yield. The Sistema Rio wall unit has been cast in fine aluminium and finished in a deep red tone. A tilting mechanism is limited to around 90°, to stop the lamp (and the heat from the halogen light source) from being positioned directly at the wall. Being part of a modular system, the unit can be mounted in an upward or downward facing direction or even disassembled for the fixing arm to be positioned on the left or right hand side.
The lamp is in good condition with no dents, however there is a fair amount of scratches and chips to the lacquered aluminium mostly on the outward facing side of the lamp. The lamp can be re-configured so that scratched surface is facing the wall. The lamp is fitted with a 200W R7s halogen light source.
