De Pas + D'Urbino + Lomazzi, Lampiatta, Stilnovo 1971

£425.00
SOLD

An early edition of the classic Lampiatta by the three “marinai” Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi. Produced by Stilnovo in 1971, the Lampiatta functions as either a table or wall lamp, and is comprised of a weighted plastic base with slits in which a lacquered aluminium reflector is inserted. The trio’s design reduces the Lampiatta to only the most essential parts which removes the need for any joints or mechanical components, but still allows it to be adjusted and orientated in a number of ways. The Lampiatta is an excellent example of De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi’s playful approach to the design of everyday objects.

Being a very early edition, the Lampiatta is fitted with an original bakelite VLM switch designed by Achille Castiglioni. The lamp appears to hardly have been used and is in absolutely perfect condition and working order and comes complete with all its original packaging, instructions and wall fixings. A new E27 4W 300 lumen LED bulb (chrome mirror) is included in the sale.
