Achille Castiglioni, Gibigiana, Flos 1980

A fine example of Achille Castiglioni’s Gibigiana lamp in a subtle ivory colour. Designed in 1980, the Gibigiana was constructed to cast a discreet and intimate pool of light away from the glare of a light source hidden away in the cone-like body of the lamp. A movable circular mirror angles and reflects the light from the source, while a lever on the spine controls the intensity. The Gibigiana is both a beautiful and unobtrusive object as well as a brilliant example of Castiglioni’s precision in design and engineering. This model is the Gibigiana 2, the larger of the two editions produced by Flos. It is composed of an aluminium body paired with plastic parts and a mirrored reflector.

This Gibigiana lamp is in excellent condition and working order. A new halogen GU4 20W light source is included in the sale and the lamp will be shipped with copies of the instructions and technical data sheet.
