Bruno Gecchelin, Desk Lamp, iGuzzini 1974

SOLD

Bruno Gecchelin’s large and elegant desk lamp produced by iGuzzini in 1974, is often mistaken as a lamp in the Wing series he designed for Oluce a year earlier. The iGuzzini lamp comprises of a weighted metal circular base out which a chrome rod arcs upwards to hold the head of the lamp, which consists of six circular metal plates surrounding an aluminium reflector. The unique slatted head is fully rotatable and can be adjusted in height when moved along the chrome arm. Gecchelin’s lamp is an exceptionally well made, quality object, with elements that are perfectly combined to give the illusion of light and weightlessness, even though the lamp itself is quite heavy.

The lamp is in excellent condition and working order and comes fitted with a new frosted G6.35 20W halogen bulb. We are also including a replacement 35W bulb for a brighter light source. The lamp was originally fitted with an old style 3-pin Italian plug. We have replaced this with a 3-pin UK plug but will ship the original part with the lamp.
