Ellipse Lamp, Italy c1986
A lamp in the distinctive style of a Memphis object but at a fraction of the price. Produced in Italy in the mid 1980s, this super nice lamp has been designed around the geometric figure of the ellipse and features an opalescent elliptical diffuser resting against a supporting strut, which is held in place with a blue metallic finial. A transformer for a fluorescent light source is contained within a spherical base. A bold and striking piece of postmodern design from the 1980s.
This lamp is in excellent condition and perfect working order. We have replaced the old style 3-pin Italian plug with a 3-pin UK plug, but will nevertheless include the original part when shipping. The sale includes 2 new G23 2-pin compact fluorescent light bulb, one 5W and the other 7W (which is also longer).
