Albini + Helg + Piva, Coppelia, Sirrah 1986

We are very pleased to have the beautiful Coppelia wall lamp for sale, designed by Marco Albini, Franca Helg and Antonio Piva via the architecture and design practice set up by Franco Albini in 1930, now known as Studio Albini Associati. With an opaline glass shade that sits on top of a fluted aluminium body, the Coppelia was conceived specifically for a gas discharge light source which is more commonly seen in street lighting than interior settings. It is difficult to describe (or photograph) the intensely beautiful light that this gas discharge bulb emits through the opaline glass shade. As the gas heats up the lamp slowly changes from a warm orange glow to a clean and diffuse light that fills the room without glare or ever appearing to be too bright. The Coppelia is an exceptionally well made and fine piece of lighting for anyone interested in postmodern design from the 1980s.

The Coppelia wall lamp is new and unused (dead stock) and in perfect working order. It is sold complete with all its original packaging, including fixings, installation instructions and an original Philips PG12 50W gas discharge light bulb.
