Campana Suspension Lamp, Stilnovo 1969

£330.00
SOLD

The Campana, a well known and much desired suspension lamp from Stilnovo, one of Italy’s most important manufacturer of lighting products. The Campana was also designed by Stilnovo and not Joe Colombo, a name that is often incorrectly attributed to it. Nevertheless, the Campana, remains a classic and contemporary lighting object, despite it being over 50 years old. The Campana (meaning Bell in Italian) is composed of two cast aluminium parts, which allows a small amount of light to escape from the top to create a nice illuminated ring effect. Stilnovo produced two versions of the lamp, Mod. 2502 is the smaller of the two and is finished in a subtle greyish/white tone.

Overall the lamp is in very good condition and excellent working order. There are small chips and scratches to the paint work on the outer rim and the point of contact between the upper and lower parts, as well as some light surface scratches to the interior. None of these are particularly visible once the lamp has been hung. The lamp has been re-wired with a new 3m fabric covered flex as the original flex had been cut very short and damaged with age (we will ship the original flex with the lamp). The light source is not included as the lamp can be fitted with a number of different bulbs with an E27 end cap.
