Cini Boeri, Accademia, Artemide 1978

£275.00
SOLD

The Accademia wall lamp by the esteemed Italian architect and designer Cini Boeri. Produced by Artemide in 1978, the Accademia is a simple and beautifully considered lamp composed of a triangular fabric diffuser attached to metal wall mount holding two lamp holders. The lamp has been designed to be affixed to either a flat wall or corner.

Born in 1924, Cini Boeri’s work was always guided by ethical constraints of value and functionality, and characterised by a minimal and economical use of materials. For Boeri, design is “a rational work, based on awareness, knowledge, cultural curiosity and a capacity for analysis and self-analysis.” Boeri only recently passed away in September 2020, leaving an enduring mark on Italy’s design and cultural history.

This example of the Accademia lamp is in excellent condition and perfect working order, and comes with some of its original packaging. The sale does not include the 2 light bulbs that are required for the lamp.
